Codex Labs is grounded in science, focused on the microbiome, and pioneering clinically proven, inside out solutions for eczema and acne.
Our Founding Story
Born in Canada to Czechoslovak parents who fled Prague, Barbara Paldus grew up crossing borders — of country, language, and discipline. That journey shaped everything: the curiosity, the rigor, the refusal to accept “that’s just how it is” as an answer. She became a Stanford-trained scientist and serial entrepreneur who spent three decades asking hard questions — co-founding companies acquired for hundreds of millions, holding 50+ U.S. patents, speaking five languages.
But even with all of that, nothing quite prepares you for watching your child struggle with reactive skin while knowing — as a scientist — exactly what’s in the products everyone keeps recommending. The preservatives, the fillers, the ingredients that looked fine on a label and weren’t. She saw the gap between what the industry was offering and what the science supported, so she closed it.
Codex Labs exists because Barbara Paldus has never once waited for someone else to solve a problem she could see clearly. She is rigorous without being remote, data-driven without being cold — and behind every patent and every platform is the same conviction: a solution is only as strong as the truth it’s built on — and the truth is always in the data.
Our claims are not just fluff, they’re facts. We conduct clinical tests and publish the data to prove how our products perform. You’ll see real results in your skin.
We minimize the environmental impact of every aspect of our operation. We are focused on being carbon neutral, cleaning plastic in the ocean, and protecting biodiversity.
Every country has their own cosmetics laws. We comply with those regulations and register with governmental health authorities wherever we are sold.
Our plant-based biotech complexes are not only patented, they’re disruptive: hydration (BiaComplex™), skin barrier protection (AntuComplex™) and our food-grade preservation (PreservX™). We innovate skincare breakthroughs.
We know what’s in every tube, literally. We control the complete supply chain — from sustainable wild harvesting through pharma-grade clean processes and our airless packaging — to achieve the highest quality possible.
We apply current Good Manufacturing Practices (cGMP) to our production process to create consistent high quality and performance as well as prevent contamination.
